Green jobs can mean a lot of things -- conservation and pollution mitigation, clean energy, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly production, along with training and support. But each state isn't sharing equally in this bounty of new jobs. full story

Aja Monet

Along with a long list of awards and accomplishments Aja Monet has done the almost impossible.  In 2007 at the age of 19 she  brought home the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, Grand Slam Championship.  In the real world it would be the equivalent to Micheal Jordan winning the NBA Championship his first year in the NBA.  Beyond the accomplishments Aja Monet breathes cool.  Sabrina Gilbert sat down with her to get a full update on the life and times of a rockstar in the making.

Burj Khalifa

Dubai's Burj Khalifa was debuted and renamed on Monday, Jan. 4. Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building (2,717 feet), features the highest observation deck and was renamed after Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of neighboring Abu Dhabi who came to the aid of Dubai during the financial meltdown.

I hope all is well. I know I usually say something funny but for some reason I feel like I need to write this. I feel like there is someone out there that needs to read this. I hope that your 2009 is still going in the right direction, but understand that the plan is that the plan will change, however, the goal remains the same. Take the time to take a step back and see the big picture. Don’t get overwhelmed by the enormity of the project. Instead make a list of the steps you have to take to accomplish your mission and as you check them off, celebrate each little victory. Simply focus on the next step and before you know it you goal will be insight, within reach, and in your grasp… You may stumble and you may fall, but falling is not failing. Everyone falls, but failing is falling and not getting back up. I may get knocked down but I am not going to stay down. Get back up and take your falls and mistakes as a learning lesson and make it a point not to repeat them.  If you are already off track get back on track.  It really is that simple. It is a matter of just deciding to do it. Stop talking yourself out of Greatness! Stop telling yourself all the reasons why you can’t.  "I am not smart enough, I don’t have time, I don’t have the money" Start telling yourself all the reasons you can, “If she can do it, I can do it, I can make the time just like I make the time to do the other things I want to do.
BE PASSIONATE…DON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER…WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY… DON’T GIVE UP… DON’T QUIT… MAKE IT HAPPEN… THERE IS NO PLAN B!

A cold snap in northern China has thrown daily life into confusion, but is ideal for fairy tale palaces, towering pagodas, and even a sphinx — all carved from ice — that make up the sights at this year's Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.

The annual event in northern China, now in its 26th year, pulls crowds from across China and even a few visitors from overseas, drawn to the unique visions of an international roster of sculptors who illuminate their creations with multicolored electric lights encased in the translucent ice.
